I have been involved in yet another challenge set by Adam Scorey (Editor of Professional Photographer Magazine, Turning Pro, and Photography Monthly), and this one was even scarier than shooting in an allotment.
Many weeks ago Adam came to me with an idea for a new feature which involved taking an existing advert and re-shooting it in my own way.
I chose Marc Jacobs Fragrance, as its a brand I own and have been familiar with since the ‘Daisy’ scent was first released. We narrowed it down to the ‘Honey’ perfume as it hadn’t actually been shot with models and this was something I felt I could add.
Without giving away too much (you will have to buy the magazine) it turned out to be extremely difficult BUT so much fun and I love the outcome.
I shot with some of my favourite creatives, including my right hand lady Lauren Phelan, the incredible Stylist Camilla Sverdrup-Thygeson. My brother Dom also shot us yet another amazing behind the scenes Video.
Photography – Saskia Lawson
Hair & Makeup – Lauren Phelan
Hair & Makeup Assistant – Amber Espley
Styling – Camilla Sverdrup-Thygeson
Nails – Coral Mitchell
Model is Karolina @ Premier Model Management
Karolina wears Marc Jacobs A/W 14.
I decided to shoot two different takes on the adverts as I couldn’t choose between my original ideas. One shot at my studio and one on location on the outskirts of London, in Surrey.
So yeah, go have a read of how we did it. It was a hoot.
Available in all WHSmiths, Sainsburys and other magazine shops etc etc!
Massive thank you to the Marc Jacobs team, Adam & Daisy @ Professional Photographer, Angie (for the bees), the bees (for being so well behaved), and my wonderful team <3
